How Do I Check In?

Check-in for each camp and clinic begins 20 minutes prior to the start of the session on the first day only. Players arriving late should proceed directly to the gym and be seated. See the camp director at the earliest convenience to find out your group and coach assignment.

Debbie, Lindsey and I have been thoroughly pleased with the training provided by you and your staff. She has done training at Spikes, Fort Bend Fire and Soko,l and Sokol is her favorite. You guys are organized and the total training package including demonstration and over professionalism is top notch. I just wish we lived closer to you guys. We will definitely be making the trip your way again next summer when she is going into 7th grade. We just wanted to make an introduction this summer. To register for camp events, campers must complete an application (either online or by downloading the application form). Fees vary from camp to camp and are payable in full at time of registration.

To register online, please select a camp from our Sokol Volleyball calendar, and follow the online procedures. You must become a site member to register online.

Or you may download the application and credit card form as a PDF. Both documents can be found below. You will need Adobe Acobat to open and view the file(s).

Debbie Sokol Camp Director

Debbie Sokol begins her 27th year as owner and director of one of the largest volleyball camps in the nation. She has played and coached at the collegiate, national and international levels. Complimenting her love for teaching skills is her passion for coaching and directing. From 1982-1993, Sokol served as the head coach at Rice University. From 1993-2007, Sokol directed the very competitive and elite junior volleyball program, Club Texas. Currently Sokol presides over the volleyball program at The Kinkaid School in Houston and head coaches the varsity team. Sokol's coaching and athletic background is long and accomplished. She began her playing career at Bellaire High School and took her talents to the University of Houston where she was team captain and MVP at both institutions. After college, Sokol was honored to become a member of the United States World University Games Team and traveled to Mexico City for the 1979 Games. Competition Camps allow you to specify a position…Setter, Outside, Middle, Right-Side or Libero/DS…in which you will be given technical instruction in the characteristics and attributes of that role through drills and training each day. Position Camps: If you want to take your setting or hitting to the next level, position camps are a must. Whether you are a seasoned volleyball athlete or brand new to the game, our staff will help you develop the individual skills necessary for you to be successful at your desired position and level. The setter and hitter camps are designed for athletes who want to establish themselves in a particular position. These sessions focus specifically on improving setting or hitting technique for improved execution during game situations. Setter and hitter camps offer excellent intensive training and promote skill enhancement through consistent repetition.

Setter Camp ($135.00): Learn proper hand position, footwork to the pass, and leadership skills. Practice the execution of various sets and patterns in game-like situations, learn to run different offenses, play steady right back defense and start every game with a great serve. This camp is on the list for anyone desiring to become a better setter.

Hitter Camp ($175.00): Become a terminator on your team in no time flat, with proper arm-swing, hand contact and footwork to the ball. From the beginner to the advanced, every player will learn to become a better attacker. Hitter camps teach all the elements of a strong attack and will make you a confident hitter from your desired position. Skills Camps: Individual training combined with team concepts will get you in shape for your next season! These skills camps are designed to focus on all aspects of the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Skills will be reinforced through repetition and performed in competition. No matter what your current level is now, you will walk away from this camp more confident in your skills. Levels are Skills I (4th-7th graders) and Skills II (8th-12th graders) and are geared toward specific age and ability groups.
