Hear What Campers Say About Sokol

This is a quick note to let you know just how thankful we are for the Debbie Sokol Camps.... Kara Hauck attended at least five camps at Sokol in four years. I can tell that over time it really did help her. Just so you know, your efforts along with her playing club helped her to WIN THE MOST VALUABLE SETTER award for District 20-4A .... Her team mate, Serena won MVP. Kara and Serena were quite a pair during their last year at PNG. ANYHOW, this note is just to thank you for being part of Kara's success.

I have previously attended Debbie Sokol camps for the past 3 years. I am now currently coaching six graders who will be trying out for the team next year. I feel that Sokol Volleyball Camps offer the best training and skills out there. I always liked to go to these camps over the summer, and as for the price, it is very reasonable. I would like you to send me your brochures about the various camps that Debbie Sokol offers, so I can inform the parents of an inspiring and extremely helpful camp for their girls to attend. Thanks again for your time! It has always been my pleasure to spread the word about your great camps and coaching staff. Thanks for the many ways that you have improved my volleyball career.

My daughter just completed the 'Bantam Camp' and I don't know who learned or enjoyed the camp more, me or her. Anyway it was extremely enjoyable to watch and feel the enjoyment and energy exuded by your staff. All of your staff demonstrated an extreme love and dedication to the sport. Several times before the camp and during lunch I noted that the staff scrimmaged each other with unbelievable enthusiasm. These scrimmages offered the campers an opportunity to see how the skills they were learning can be applied. If just a small bit of the enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated by your staff is carried home by each of the campers, their future success is guaranteed. I read somewhere that attending a quality camp in the off-season is like adding a season of development, which is truly the case in this instance. Thanks for the opportunity to be involved with such high quality players and people.

We just wanted to let you know that Mary and many of the girls that came through your camps this summer made the St. Agnes freshman and JV teams. Mary attended the regular and competition camps, and it was the competition camp that we believe made the difference in her readiness at tryouts. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the coaches, and the level of competition at the last camp, she made it! Thank you so much for your work with the girls, the effort you and the coaches put into it to get the girls to work hard but enjoy the game while they are working hard, and your positive attitude with the girls. Your camps definitely made the difference in Mary's abilities, and we watched many others improve dramatically during the summer as well. As my other daughter, Emily comes through middle school, I hope she can also advance through your camps and gain the same confidence in her game as Mary did.

They attend Second Baptist and I believe your camps help them in skills and thus in try-outs. They show improvement every year. This is just a thank you to you and your staff. The camps help you to improve your skills and have fun at the same time by running tough drills and fun games at appropriate times. Each individual receives attention and tips to help improve their game. I also think that the camp having sections for hitters and setters is important so that one can focus on her role in the game. It really helped me to become more of a team player and I really learned how to cooperate with others and learn more about my teammates in order to be able to play more in sync with them. The setting coaching was great and I really think it helped me to become more accurate as well as more capable of setting a full offense.

The camp was fabulous because I got to meet some terrific girls and there was an excellent coach player ratio. We played some really fun games that worked on our skills. It really helped me on defense and teamwork because I got a lot a game experience.

I like the ratio of coaches to campers. You get a lot of personal attention and achieve a relationship with the coaches that is unlike any other camps I have been to. You feel as though they really care about your game and want you to be a better player. I overcame skills that I was not that great at before I came to camp. It helped me personally with leadership and learning the best way to conquer a challenge is to never give up. The camp taught us how to work with others and defined many skills that were there, but they made them even better.

I liked the setter camp I attended. I was placed with people who were on the same skill level as me; therefore, I didn't feel intimidated by the campers who were better than me. All the drills were fast-paced and we did a whole lot of ball handling. The camp helped me fully understand my role as a setter. By learning the fundamentals and the team's expectations of the setter, I have become more confident in my teammates and myself.

Alex enjoyed her week at your camp (7/15-19, 9-12 pm). As a parent, I enjoyed watching the attention paid to "detail" during instruction and play. You covered a lot of material! We liked the coach to camper ratio, the structure and atmosphere of the camp! Definitely money well spent!!

Every camp that I attended was always fun. All the coaches were
extremely nice and helpful. Despite many other campers, individual help
was still easy to find. The coaches learn your names and you are not
just a camper but a friend. When I return to my club team or high school
team, I always have confidence knowing I practiced well over the summer.
My overall skills and especially my hitting skills have improved
dramatically after each camp I attended.
